traction problems
finally i got my clutch installed (rps max) and i have the hole exhaust system. down/test pipes running 2.5" to my mufflers. i couldnt find any muffler that i really like so i went to ASSA racing and the owner there hook me up with two turbo exhaust. anyways,so i have this set up and of coarse firt gear i'm burning tire. 2nd gear i can feel Z tillting one way. i'm putting to much power that my tires can get a grip on. any sugestions?
this is my entire setup: ECU (JWT) SGP POP CHARGER (JWT) UNDERDRIVE PULLEY( SGP) RPS MAX CLUTCH WITH STREET DISC DOWN PIPES (SGP) TESTPIPES TURBO EXHUST (ASSA RACING) |

Re: traction problems
do you have stock wheels? if so, i would get some wider wheels, more rubber on the ground is always a good thing.

Re: traction problems
I would recommend reinforcing your car at this point.

Re: traction problems
I Look For Wider Tires But The Wides I Can Go On A Stock Rim Is 255/50 16 Which Is The Next Tire Up In Size.
So Adding A Strut Bar Makes A Diference? Its Like I Cant Even Drive It Hard Cause It Will Stir Side Ways On 2nd Gear. |

Re: traction problems
You could go TT wheels for all for corners then.

Re: traction problems
TT wheels, good tires.... BF Goodies.... or Michies, or even Goodyears.......... solid brands Z rated a must, prepair to pay good money for them too. Lastly sounds like you need a better rear end. perhaps a better LSD.

what kind of tires do you have on there now??? throw on some nice tires in the rear, that should work wonders and if you really want soem traction for the straight-a-ways, throw on some drag radials but dont expect to handle corners at 80mph.

Re: traction problems
Don't drive as hard? Have your grandma drive and learn how the pros get traction.

i have another thought of why you may be losing traction so easy...
is it really cold in your area, when it is really cold in my area my tires on my N/A spin through 1st gear...i think its because both surfaces are so hard and solid, makes it hard for the rubber compound to sink into the asphault...

Re: traction problems
Ok as for tire and wheel size try 18 X 9.5s that will make a HUGE difference in traction in the rear. Also I do suggest the LSD if you do that and a bushing deleation kit.
