Issue with passenger side wheel wobbling in 4x4

I have a 2008 LTZ 5.3 4x4 this past snow storm when driving in 4x4 when I made a U-turn the passenger side wheel felt like it was about to fall off and the truck struggled to take power. This doesn't happen at all when 4x4 is off I never had this problem before. Could this be a possible issue with the cv axle?

Re: Issue with passenger side wheel wobbling in 4x4

That's a very common occurence with the front axle locked in on dry pavement or any normal-traction surface. The front wheels by their nature do not track equally on turns and the front end of the vehicle actually travels farther (more rotations) than the rear.

Search for "axle wind-up" and you may find a more detailed explanation. There is probably a section addressing this in the vehicle owners manual. Continued use like this can cause wear or damage to the CV joints, axles, transfer case, and front differential.
