Tamiya Kawasaki GPZ400R
Started this early this summer, then the project got suspended, because I spent the whole summer at my cottage (off grid cabin whatever you call it). Now, when the Nissan and Suzuki Gamma are finished, have time to proceed with this (and a "couple" of other builds).
In the spring I glued and painted the fairings, just plain white and some Ferrari red: And after summer decals and clear coat at the same session with Nissan and Suzuki: Then finished the engine: Painted the frame with some AK Xtreme aluminium, a couple of decals and over coated with Alclad clear, then inserted engine into the frame: And today completed the rear wheel and inserted it to the frame: |

Re: Tamiya Kawasaki GPZ400R
Finished the air cleaner and the exhaust. Tamiya has molded battery and some ignition parts together with the airbox, but forgot them from the painting instruction, so had to use some imagination. The exhaust is Vallejo gloss black primer and AK polished aluminium, coated with Alclad clear, just to protect the metallic paint.

Re: Tamiya Kawasaki GPZ400R
Some major progress! Got the fairing finished (minus windshield and blinkers). Glued fairing, fuel tank and seat on to the frame, and assembled the rear light and blinkers. So it is waiting for some work on the front forks and some finishing touches before it is completed. Only major fault is, that the blue stripe on the tank seems to be a tad too high up.

Looks great!! I wouldn't have noticed the slight issue with the blue stripe unless you'd have pointed it out. Still looks perfect to me..

And the front forks are on. Still missing some little pieces. And the wind shield.

Re: Tamiya Kawasaki GPZ400R
Installed the wind shield and mirrors. Still missing the registration plate and painting of some rivets on the cowling. Next pictures will be in the completed section.
