possible starter problems
I have a 2011 Acadia SLT with 84K miles on it, mostly highway. SHortly after I purchased it, every once in a while when I would go to start it, the starter's drive gear would just freewheeel and not engaged. I would turn the key back off, wait a second, try again, and it would be find. this would happen maybe once every 4-6 months. Today it happen for the third time this month and it happen three times in a row. Is this a bad starter soleniod or possibly something else? I am praying it's nothing major or can wait another month or two as I just spent over $1200 for new tires, oil change, and a few other minor maintenance services.
Thanks... |

Re: possible starter problems
Michael you should not wait for in depth help as this is 2 months now, they generally look for recalls or TSB's that might apply to your issue. What you describe is a bad starter drive, the starter should be repaired or replaced to fix this.
