Help!!! Problems with Revell airbrush :(
Well i have the revell airbrush and this crap of brush only works when it wants to Is it possible that revell paints are too thick for the airbrush? Because "bubbles" appeares where the paint goes out. Em, not bubbles just loads of paint. And it didnt spray at all. I also cleaned it very well, and it stopped working after a few seconds.
Is it me or is this a shitty brush? Can anyone help me? I used testors last time and it worked like heaven Im REALLY pissed Last edited by D.J.; 11-16-2003 at 05:57 AM. |

what you need to do is thin the paint before using the airbrush... sadly, i know nothing about thinning, so i'm of no help there... just know that the airbrush isnt crap...

Well maybe reading the manual or the instruction could help to improve your vocabulary and also answer your question... Double bet!
and yes you need to thin paint, and if it's a cheap airbrush, you can use only acrylic paint. you can get some Model Master paint jar already thinned for cheap

Well i did read the manual and followed the instructions, but it didnt work. And one would think if you have revell paints they will work with revell airbrush without thinning. Well thanks for "help" anyway.
BTW: whats wrong with my vocabulary? And that was self-censored. |

You do need to thin paints. Having said that, revell also make "airbrush" paints that, I would think, work without thinning. But you used the "normal" enamel paint, right?
And what kind of an airbrush do you have? I also have a revell one (master class professional) and am quite happy with it in most respects.

Yes, i used normal ones, in the small round "boxes". I think i have the starter set airbrush.
So, i need to thin this paint or find other paint? |

Thin paint. You have to thin pretty much any paint with some exceptions. Play around with thinner/paint ration to find the one that works best for you. Generally, "milk" consistency is a nice place to start.

So what ratio is that? 2:1 paint:thinner or less? 8:1, just tell me approximately.

Re: What the f*** is wrong with this f****** airbrush???
With enamel paint i'd start with
paint 1 : 1 thinner and go from there. But it depends on the airbrush a lot, so mix a bit 1:1, test it, and add thinner if needed until you get a satisfying result. There isn't much to it other than practice and testing.

Re: What the f*** is wrong with this f****** airbrush???
You surely have an acrylic Airbrush.. if you use Enamel paint and clean it with thiner, you will scrap your airbrush in a couple of use. (I did)
I sugest you to use Model Master Acrylic Paint. They come in a jar that fin into most airbrush, already thinned and cost about 2$ for 14ml. You can also clean the Air brush with whater after so you dont damage it. here is a link with picture so you know what to get: http://www.widgets.ws/prod/MisterArt...halo-drab.html and here is the full color line (you can mix your own too) http://www.testors.com/tes_cds/color..._(Acrylic).pdf
