09 Malibu drivers seat back panel loose
The back panel on our 09 Malibu was initially loose at the top right corner only. Asked a body shop to look at it and they acted like the car was too old to get parts. When we got the car back, the bottom right area of the seat panel was also now loose and will NOT hook back in.
After buying new retainer clips for the top we now know that would have fixed the original problem, but now it appears the body shop broke the bottom right corner and the whole panel will now need to be replaced. I see the panel wraps underneath the trim for the side airbag and also is held on by a handle on the side. 1. Is it safe to just remove the top piece of trim on the side airbag to get another back panel on? 2. Also, how do you remove the reclining handle so the back panel can be replaced? please see pic attached. |
