99Grand Am Issues losing power

This is not my first time having issues with my Grand Am. Earlier this year I replaced the motor due to a broken camshaft. Now I am experiencing something else all together.

Yesterday, My car started acting weird. It will run fine sitting idle, and for a short while starting out then things go weird. The tach starts bouncing around between zero and whatever it feels like and I lose most power, if not completely stall out. I can usually save a stall if I press the accelerator down further, but it will almost immediately do the same thing. It is worse uphill. Any ideas where to start looking? I have started looking for a loose ground or a short somewhere, but besides that I am not sure what else to look at. I did read somewhere that it could be the cat. converter being clogged but not sure as it wasn't the exact same problem
