Re: 2000 mountaineer i need some advice

i believe this is related to the clock spring. the air bag light in the panel flashes, and my fan doesnt work except on full blast and the cruise control doesnt work. i was told that replacing the clockspring would take care of this

Re: cruise control

I don't think the clockspring will affect the blower speed, that is probably due to a faulty blower speed motor controller.

As for the flashing airbag light and cruise, those could both be due to a bad clockspring assembly.

The airbag light should be flashing out a code. Count the flashes and post the code here. For example, if the light does flash, flash, pause, flash, flash, flash, long pause, flash, pause, flash, flash, this would indicate two codes (separated by the long pause) of code 23 and code 12.

These codes will help indicate if the problem is likely a clockspring or something else.
