95 Mirage using 1 qt oil a week

My 1995 Mirage is using 1 qt of oil a week.....it's not smoking or leaking as far as no spots are left in the drive way. Also, just passed State Inspection a week ago, so..... I'm not sure where its going, maybe some blow-by as EGR valve that was just replaced a month ago sure has a lot of carbon build up already.

Does anyone else have this problem or any suggestions as to how to fix it? TY

Re: 95 Mirage using 1 qt oil a week

If you have high mileage, you might want to try some of the motor oil designed for such cars. If it's not leaking, it's burning, likely from it being pulled down worn valve guides. You might also want to remove the valve cover and verify that the oil returns are clear.
