1978 thunderbird 302 to 351w HO swap
So I have a 78 thunderbird with the 302, want to put in a 84 351w HO truck motor with the matching c6 tranny. Besides a different pan and sump does anyone know what other things I will need to make it work? Thank you

Re: 1978 thunderbird 302 to 351w HO conversion
The Windsor and 302 are the same block, just bored out larger. Usually a 302 was matched with a C4 which is a different length most times than a C6, so you might need to have your driveshaft shortened. My Dad and I did a lot of 260, 289, 302 and 351W swaps in late 60's early 70's cars with the only changes being the oil pan if the front running gear of the donor car was different.

It should be a FMX 3speed, but it could be a C4. Like you I could not find specific information.
