Another Braking thread

Hey guys. I know that there have been numerous posts as to the lumina brakes. I have a 99 LTZ and in the dry its fine. Wet is hopeless. The big thing is that I used autozone pads the ones that they say have no metal in them(organic i believe). Its still like it was when it rains better stay way back. But if I kind of ride them before I get there they do much better. My question is that If I take the advice of the forums that I have read and buy the better bendix pads then is that really going to help? Also would a set of the rotors that have the holes in them the performance help that problem? That would seem to help the rotor to vent more of the water. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Patrick.
PS the white lumina that I have been seeing in so many posts, lowered and such looks awesome, what all did ya use on that to get it that way? Also Ive heard that its really costly to do that?

Re: Another Braking thread

i would guess you pushing on the brakes in advance is to burn off the water that collects on your discs... i take it you have 4 wheel disc brakes since you have an LTZ... did you put on some custom wheels that now make it easier for yoru rotors to get wet?

i noticed the brakes aren't that great on the lumina.. i would get the best pads you can... don't skimp at all

I dont have any custom wheels on it just the factory ones but they are kind of open. They are like 4 or 5 spoke type, kind of like a star? I may have to try a diffrent pad. Do all the threads that I have seen about using the E-Brake apply to the 4 wheel disc? Yes I do have 4 wheel disc. I had a 92 lumina and it was awesome on the brakes. I had a 2 dr sport type coupe and a 4 dr family base. But this one is the worst braking vehicle I have ever had.
Thanks for the reply..
Patrick
