'00 exhaust hanger insulators
hey gang, found a couple insulators cracked badly. ford won't sell just the rubber. for the 4 brackets w/ insulators will run $100.
i've seen the jegs and other generic looking ones. i have no confidence since i've never used one. anyone have a lead on just the OEM insulator pieces? tia, parker |

Re: '00 exhaust hanger insulators
parkerb -
I recall finding a particularly badly cracked exhaust hanger on my '00 - and rummaged around my parts bin a found a new spare hanger left over from an exhaust project on my old Isuzu Trooper. It fit fine and installed without problem. If you go to a quality auto parts place (i.e., not one of the mass retailers - though you might luck out there, too), they should be able to set you up without problem.

I've seen some at autozone, they might look crappy but they'll do the job!

Re: '00 exhaust hanger insulators
hey guys, thanks. i have a '98 cargo with a blown engine that i use for parts. i found 2 that were pretty decent. i'll hold onto the split originals and take them with me next time i head to napa or autozoo.
in my searches i found alot of mustang talk of cheap knock offs that looked and were sized identical but didn't provide the same stifness- allowed the entire system to move around excessively. as always, i'll report back with my findings. |

Re: '00 exhaust hanger insulators
I agree with Mark. I've used the non-oem ones and found them to be just fine.
