That is bad, it gives all shops a bad name not just Jiffy Lube. It's just another reason to be a back yard mechanic yourself.

I dont trust ANY chain shop with ANY repair I can do myself. Even if they do something I cant do, I watch them do it. I change my own oil and do all my own repairs. It not only saves money, I get better at diagnosing car problems, and I apply my knowledge to other peoples cars. I cant tell you how many times jiffy lube or even the dealership overtightens bolts on the simplest things. Oil change for instance, Ive seen too many cars' oil pan bolts tightened with impact tools, warping the head of the bolt in the process. Its ridiculous. Most people who work on your car at those shops dont care about your car.
