94 Lumina Z34

I have a 94 Lumina Z34, that jumps time. If anyone has the same problem, what's my fix?

When you say jumps I assume we are talking the Cam belt and not the timing chain. These are famous for chewing up the belt tensioners and idler pulleys.

Yup sounds like the timing belt to me. My buddy just had his belt go out on his 92 Z34. That's something you want to address right away. Even though the LQ1 motor is supposed to be a low interference motor, you can still do damage at higher speeds.

It's a pain in the arse, but you will have to access the timing belt to check things out. If the belt is slack, it may be stretched or the tensioner is faulty. Mine jumped time, BIG TIME, earlier this year and it was the tensioner. By the way, dont trust the parts guy when he says he's got you a tensioner on the way. A common mistake is that they will order the tensioner for the timing gear that drives the intermediate shaft. It will not work!!! The proper nomenclature is timing belt actuator, or something thereabouts. Check out 60degreev6.com for lots of information on these engines.
