Another McLaren F1
Finally I've decided to split out my thread about race version of McLaren F1 GTR, because I made a lot of works on the street version. Will continue here. I don't know yet if the Fujimi's kit will be finished, but I want to use it as a donor for my own model. I want to remind in several pictures what was made before. At first a 3D model was created by my brother. Then new parts were made by CNC milling and 3D printing. Also I've made copies of the MFH's engine and suspension. For some reason I decided to adapt my front bumper to the Fujimi's body. It will be sold for interested persons. Almost done. This picture is just for fun. Next step is the instrument panel (IP) and door trims. To create new trims and to reshape the IP I cut the roof. Pay attention to the gap between the IP and the windscreen. The roadster is beautiful. The IP was lifted up and moved a little backward. The gap has gone. The original. The most of works are ahead. Sorry for the long post. Last edited by stratos75; 03-14-2014 at 08:04 AM. |

Wow, can't wait to see more Mikhail! I'm definitely interested in a front bumper, and interior door panels if you make those too.

Ok Bernard. I remember also about your desire to have doors with mirrors on the window frame. I will make them after the dashboard and door trims will be done.

Re: Another McLaren F1
These milling and 3d-printed projects are so great. I have to focus on that they are a completely different arena from what I am building, otherwise I would put modeling aside permanently. :-)
