Tracker Airbag Clockspring Replacement Question

Anyone on here very familiar with the clock spring for the airbag on Trackers? I have the Tracker ZR2 model and broke my clock spring in the steering column. I know there are a few different types depending on whether you have cruise control and such (which mine does have). I also know that the dealer sells the spring as an assembly that includes the headlight switch and the cruise/wiper switch all as one unit. The spring however does unscrew from the assembly with 4 screws and can be removed from the part that has the wiper/cruise/headlight switches. My question is can this spring be removed from a Tracker that has no cruise control and used in a Tracker that has cruise control?

Re: Tracker Airbag Clockspring Replacement Question

O.K. I'm going to answer my own thread here. Hopefully this may help someone else. Last week I picked up a clockspring from a junked Tracker. The junked Tracker was just a plain base model and had no cruise control. What I have found out is that it seems the only connections to the actual clockspring are for the airbag itself and the horn. The clockspring removes from the unit with 4 phillips screws. When compared to the clockspring in my Tracker, which is the ZR2 model and has cruise, all the wires and connectors matched. Installed no problem, and works fine. No more airbag light, and my horn works again.
