86 Bronco II 4x4

I'm looking into putting a 3.8 from a Mustang into my BII, and I was wondering what was involved with this swap, I've heard you can really pep up these 3.8's, I don't want to swap in a 302 because I'd still like to have the reliability of the nearly stock drivetrain, also does anyone think the original 5 speed would hold up? thanks for any info.

while driving my 86 bronco II my oil pressure dropped to zero and my motor started making noise. I checked the oil. it`s full. the gauge goes up then drops back down.I had to drive it approx. 20-30 mileshome.is this my oil pump? did i ruin the motor??

If it's still moving, you probably didn't really wreck it. The Oil Pressure on Fords do often drop to nothing, then come back up for no reason. It may have been your oil pump.
