2003 grand marquis LS Wiper Problem
Hi guys i own a 2003 mercury grand marquis and all of a sudden my wipers turn on by themselves and also the window washing fluid along with it for no apparent reason. I checked to make sure the lever was on off and they still go on at random, it may stop for about 5 to 15 minutes and they turn back on it's driving me nuts anybody have an idea what it might be? and also is there a site to get the owners manual for this car for free? Thanks alot for ur time!!!

Click here and enter info. Then download it. It is free. I will check later, but I think there was a recall on the wiper switch on those. Have other things to do now, but will be back.

Re: 2003 grand marquis LS Wiper Problem
There was no recall, but there was a TSB. Part of the TSB follows.
Inspect the wiper motor and connector for signs of corrosion and/or moisture. If any corrosion or moisture are found, and the wipers exhibit an intermittent uncommanded operation, replace the wiper motor and connector/pig tail.

Re: 2003 grand marquis LS Wiper Problem
You need to remove the wiper motor module. It is the big black plastic thing that hangs out sort of over the engine. I looked for some good pictures but can not find any. It is not a hard job, but it is frustrating if you have never done one.
