Why do you like or drive a BMW?
I use to be a rural mailcarrier and over the years I have owned everything from a 1978 Renault LeCar to 4WD Subarus to Ford Explorers with a Suzuki Sidekick and 3 Dodge Spirits thrown in. My route was 100 miles/400 stops and 90% gravel roads. I have since retired am i'm looking to buy that one car that I don't have to worry about replacing brake pads or a set of tires every 3 months.
What I need to know from you what is it about the BMW that you liked so much that you bought one? I use to own a 2002 GMC Envoy with leather and most options but I could not wait to get rid of that SUV. You would think for $30,000 new that would get you a vehicle that was quiet at 60mph and the seats would have at least a little support. This vehicle had terrible wind noise coming from the windows. The seats were flat and your rear went numb after a hour or two. Seat wise the best seats that any vehicle I had ever owned was my 1995 Ford Explorer. They came stock with a Recaro type seat and you could sit in them for hours and never get tired. I wished that seat was a option on all cars made today. About 6 months ago my wife wanted to get another SUV but smaller than the Envoy. We drove everything but you will not believe what we decided to buy. We bought a 2007 Kia Sportage. Please quit laughing. At 60mph the interior is whisper quiet. I could not believe how quiet it was. It handles very good and with the traction control/4WD it goes anywhere in the snow. There are 2 drawbacks and the first one is the gas mileage. 19mpg is what your going to get. I will give the KIA 6cyl motor some credit. It is the quietest motor that I have ever owned. The other bad thing about it is the quality of the interior plastic. It scratches far to easily. But as i was reading about other car's many people are complaning how cheap the plastic is even in the higher priced cars. I have a 2001 S-10 and you can't scratch it even if you try. I know Miata and 350Z owners are having a big problems with that. They say the worse company is GM when it comes to plastic. So here is my question to you. For the extra money that a BMW cost's is the ride, handleing, comfort and all other stuff worth it? Does BMW use higher quality materials on everything? Thank You for your input. I appreciate it. |
