subwoofer making a clicking sound when cranked up
I recently bought an alphasonik psw 912 subwoofer already in a 4 cu. ft ported box. "according to the specs" it's 2200 watts rms and 4400 peak. My amp is 360 rms because thats all i have right now. could that be the reason it makes that sound? I checked the coils with a multimeter and they are not burned out. no wires are hitting the cone either, please tell me what you think. thanx in advance guys!

Re: subwoofer making a clicking sound when cranked up
I understand, it's hard to explain it. It's just a loud clicking sound. I guess I'm going to have to borrow a bigger amp from someone and find out the hard way lol

Re: subwoofer making a clicking sound when cranked up
Pull the sub from the enclosure and make sure the speaker's tinsel leads aren't hitting the speaker cone when the driver is moving. Also check to make sure the speaker wires inside the box aren't hitting the driver while it's playing.....
