Engine Upgrades
Greetings, I have a 2000 Trans Am and I would like to upgrade the engine to improve performance. It’s a daily driver and my primary focus will be on improving low end torque (takeoff power) rather than top speed. I don’t need to wring every ounce of horse power out of the thing just a modest increase would be fine. I’m not made of money but I don’t mind spending it if the performance increase is worth it.
I’d like to start out with mods that have a good bang:buck ratio, if I get through those and I still don’t think it's got enough power I’ll look at more expensive/drastic options. For the most part I would like to keep each individual upgrade at around $1,000 but I can spend around twice that if the boost in performance is worth it. What do you think?

Re: Engine Upgrades
It's stick.
Is my sig to large? If so, is it to tall or to wide?

Re: Engine Upgrades
The last one is way large and causing a scroll over. There is a size limitation, but I'm not that fussy.
If you can rezise it like the other 2 that'd be fine. |

Re: Engine Upgrades
for a stick car id do a lower ram air airbox if you dont have it already.get a lid and k&N filter(which im selling btw lol since i went turbo) do a set of long tubes and exhaust if you havent already.a clutch is a good upgrade as well if you drive hard.if you want more you can do a small dry shot of nitrous as well for simplicity.
back when i had the old motor in the car i had an LPE GT2-3 cam(read small) stock exhaust with a cutout, and a lid and filter and smooth bellow and a 100 shot of nitrous and i made 430rwhp and 470ft lbs of torque.if you dont plan on going forced induction and you have the stock rearend leave the stock gears in the car because their stronger than 4.11 gears per say

Re: Engine Upgrades
That’s really weird, they all show the same size for me. I’m assuming the offending pic is the one showing the back of the hood. I have removed that one, please let me know if it is a different pic causing trouble.
