Question About Wiring

Hey all. I know this is a lumina forum, but I'm too lazy to post somewhere else, and I know you guy's will answer. well, I bought this recieve hitch gover for my g/f's GMC Jimmy, its a light up GMC one. She's not into "Pimpin" her car out, so I do every now and then for her. Well, so i bought the hitch cover, and lock of course, and the light only lights when the brake is applied. I was wondering if there was any way to rewire it so I can have it light when she turns the parking lighs on. Any ideas? Its a standard 4 wire plug. Thank you guy's, if i dont get any replies I'm gonna just cut and measure with my voltemeter. Peace out.

Re: Question About Wiring

It's run off the trailer plug, right?

It's been so long since I've messed with one. You'd have to use a test light, the reversed terminal on your trailer connector is the ground, connect your clamp to it and probe the other terminals.

The one that is continuous power with the lights on and no signals or brake is the one you want to be connected to for running light operation.

Is the light's plug a direct fit to the trailer light plug? What I mean is, it also has 4 positions and plugs direct fit?

Is it the round or inline type?
