many 82 celebrity issues
i have an 82 that sat for a few yrs. had the money to get work done for inspection. put about 600 into it. ran real good till i took it to have some work done. my main issues are that now it wont start. had to redo the timing cuz it ran ruff. had it running but ran out of gas and now wont start. getting fuel and has spark but just wont start. also at the time it ran out of gas i was working on the radiator fan because it would not run when car got hot. put a new relay in it and still nothing. i also have new sensors in it. also here is another kicker. i did install a new computer in it because of issues that was possible from the mechanic. funny thing is i installed a new stereo in it because i thought i was road ready and in order for it to play i have to have to lights on. there was another issue but i cant think of it now.
any help would be great. thanks allen |

Re: many 82 celebrity issues
Spray some carburetor cleaner when trying to start. If it fires use a gage and check fuel pressure. Check the air cleaner and that you have air flow.
Check grounds and fuses. Otherwise mark the rotor turn the motor by hand to TDC go past and back up to TDC then turn by hand watch when the rotor starts to move stop. If over 30 degrees you have a timing problem. |
