Front end shimmies past 65 MPH
My car is a 1988 Chevy Celebrity with 2.8 L V6 and 56000 miles. when the car is off I can move the steering wheel back and fourth a bit before feeling tension, is this normal? I raised up the front end and I could turn the wheel slightly, is it supposed to have a little play?

Re: Front end shimmies past 65 MPH
A few degrees of play is normal, but not much. If it's shimmying at speed, the most common causes are worn/out of balance tires and worn tie rods.
