03 suburban rear axle seals

I was replacing the rear brakes and noticed some leakage from the rear axle seals. I have the replacements and the diff gasket. before I start (it's been about 20 years since I took a diff apart), once I get the diff cover off, I recall it being pretty easy to remove the clip that holds the axle in place. Is that still true? Is there anything I should know about taking the axle out or putting it back in?

Thanks
