Re: 2004 Sienna oil filter location?

OK......I have the 2003 Sienna with the 1MZ-FE motor.
I have been searching the internet.....found a post on a Lexus Form that states that the 3MZ-FE motor, which is what is in the 2004 Sienna has the oil filter in the same location as mine.

I found a drawing on the toyotapartszone website......enter your VIN or vehicle year/model......then select "engine/fuel" and then select "partial engine assembly", the left hand picture is the 3MZ motor.....and you can see the oil filter below where the exhaust manifold is located.

Be careful to avoid burning yourself on the HOT! exhaust manifold.

The 2004 through 2006 Sienna 3MZ-FE motor uses the SAME oil filter as the 2003 Sienna 1MZ-FE......

The OEM DENSO brand can be bought at a VERY good price, list price is $5.41..and I see it online for $3.86....and is well regarded.
There are other quality filters as well......I have a WIX on my 2003.
If you go with FRAM (Walmart)......I would get the XG filter.....but I would not extend the oil change interval beyond what TOYOTA calls for.

The 2007 and newer Sienna with the 2GR-FE motor went to a cartrige filter.
