check engine light on, no acceleration
My Aveo (it's got around 75000 miles on it) has been running like a champ in the recent cold until this morning. When I started it to warm up (no problem) the check engine light came on. Idle wasn't necessarily rough, but I did notice the RPMs were sitting right around 1,200 in park. When I started to drive, it acted like it wasn't getting power. Just sort of crawling along. Pressing down on the gas had no effect whatsoever. It wasn't stalling or sputtering, but the lack of power was enough to make me turn right back around and park again. I haven't had the engine light checked yet. I wanted to try to get some feedback first, as in my experience most repair shops will try to take complete advantage of a woman as soon as they see her coming. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Re: check engine light on, no acceleration
If you can get it to autozone, advanced auto, etc. they will pull codes for free. Write down the exact codes they give you and post back. (not what they tell you)

Re: check engine light on, no acceleration
I took out the air filter and vacuumed it. When I put it back in and started my car, the check engine light eas off and all seemed well driving. Could the problem really have been that simple?
