rubber

i need new tires for my 93 240 to put on the stock rims.. the suggested size is F195-60 and R205-60.. would it really be a big deal if i tried to put on the proxes fz4's at 195 and 205 --55-- ??? since i can't get the fz4's in 60.. i don't really need advice about which tire to get, just wanna know if i can go with a smaller sidewall without going below 50 (i'd be very happy with 55, don't wanna look like a ricer with low pro tires on my stock 240 rims..) cause the fz4 is the only tire i've looked at.. if there's any other tire i can get comparable to the fz4 then i'll probably get it.. i just want something that has a sidewall that i won't destroy cause i take turns like i'm in a F-16..

thoughts?

Re: rubber

it would change your speed and odometer....Changing the size of the tires will throw off the speed sensor and odometer. Smaller tires will make the speedo read faster than you are actually going and will make it look like you traveled furture.

Isn't there something you can adjust? I mean what do people do when they have 17s or 18 or 19s or whatever.

Re: rubber

true.. might be better off getting a new set of rims. I mean if your not getting cheapo generic tires then might as well change the whole package.

Would be a waste wouldn't it? spend a lil' more money on better tires but it's still 15"? Get some 17's or 18's. ^^

Re: rubber

umm no i'm not going bigger than 16.. they'll look fine with a 50 sidewall.. and i'm only getting these tires cause my parents are buying them.. i don't have the money right now so i wouldn't be able to get new rims anyways.. but i did have this guy offer me his old 300zx rims for $50CDN each.. and they were in good condition, only a couple of dings on one of the rims, but i don't even have the money to do that!

fortunately, i think i can settle with the proxes fz4 in a 205-55 for now, which makes me happy.. just wanted to know if it made a huge difference or not..

this is true.. but in my case, my overall diameter is going to decrease, which makes my rotations per km a lot higher and i put more km's on my car.. when people put 17s and 18s, their overall diameter usually increases and that makes it seem as though they've travelled less kms than they really have..

if somebody wants to give me some rims that are bigger than 15 and no bigger than 17, i'd lick your left nut AND tickle your ass.. other than that i'm gonna have no luck with this till i can afford new rims

Re: rubber

They will be fine. I have Proxxes FZ4s on my stock rims. The speedo reads like 3-4mph faster but I can do the math in my head. Pretty good tires too.
