Which motor?

I live in Southern Texas near the border, and all there is in my area are V8's and some modified imports. There might be a couple of imports that haul ass but they are all honda and wrx's. The rest are just ricer cars with a loud exhaust. To tell you the truth, there is almost no 240's down here. The most I have seen are about 10 89-84 and 4 95+, and that stretches out over a large area. Obviously, there are no 240s with SR20's and obviously no RB's. I want to correct that problem by being one of the first ones to have one, but there lies the problem. I hear many people talking about choosing an engine for a specific racing style. I just want to know what each engine is good for(s13 ,s14 ,s15 ,RB20 ,RB25). I'm looking towards purchasing a 95 or newer model, but since there are no cars like that down here, where would be a good place to search for one? Oh yeah and one more thing, I want to know what would be the way to go if you want to get a 240 into the 12's in the quarter. My quest is to be one of the first with an SR or RB depending on your input. With such a beautiful piece of machinery, it needs to get expanded down here in the Rio Grande Valley.
Thanks guys, I appreciate the help.

KA, RBs (maybe not the 20) are good for drag, KAs and SRs and CAs are good for drift, acoording to what others have said.

Re: Which motor?

Heh he's right. every time i drive though El Paso I can barely breath Im laughing so hard. every other car is stickered out with a fart can and a wing.

I can think of 8 SR powered 240s in Austin off the top of my head

12s isnt very hard at all and can be done on an SR with a stock turbo.

So if you had an SR, could you get good top speed? Let's say for example, good for highway racing. Just an example. So what would be the exact mods needed for a 12 second car? And R.W. 240 knows what I'm talking about. For some reason people down here are more interested in how cool they can make their p.o.s look with stickers and altezzas than how fast their car actually runs.

Hey R.W. 240, do you know of any shops here in Texas that can do the SR swap?

12's with a stock SR20 is in fact VERY difficult, what are you talking about =( the 240sx is more than $3000 away from being in the 12's, way more =p

Re: Which motor?

maybe he means after gutting the vehicle? how much would a 240 weigh after gutting it? by just leaving the front 2 seats dask/console and thats pretty much it. how much weight would be deducted?

Is this some sort of sick joke? I sure hope that the person who said that is one of the board members in disguise because that is just scary. . . . .

Re: Which motor?

hahaha, Yeah sr20dett are bad for street, get a b16a in your 240, those are really good and will get you a lot of attention, plus they fit really nicely in your 240sx.
