Re: 4X lancia fulvia scratchbuild (Zagato... Zero..)
Family grows up: Fiorio&Maglioli F&M barchetta. After the succesful expedition at Daytona 1969 with the Zagato Maglioli said to the sport director Cesare Fiorio that the condition inside the car was extreme, too warm.... so they thought to cut it as a open barchetta: this would help with the weight also...... nothing is even lighter than paralluman....

I think I'll keep this thread asan index, and create separate threads for future babyes like Fulvia HF builds and more other... So, last chapter of the saga, last one: the ring between the fulvia and the stratos.... 3D work is almost ready to be printed, I need to add last few details but the base job it is done... ladies and gentleman the Bertone Lancia Stratos HF prototype 2 by giovanni castello, su Flickr 1 by giovanni castello, su Flickr 3 by giovanni castello, su Flickr 4 by giovanni castello, su Flickr I'll start soon

Re: 4X lancia fulvia scratchbuild (Zagato... Zero..)
Hi Gio, fantastic 3D of the Stratos Zero, this is my all time favorite car! Basically, this car made me what I am now! I would definitely like to buy one!
I was lucky to see the real car today, here in Torino . May I give you a little advice on the front fender, there is one line too much, the middle line on the fender does not exist. But overall, the CAD looks really cool! |

Re: 4X lancia fulvia scratchbuild (Zagato... Zero..)
and it was in 1968... omg..
Think also the front radiator rectangular needs some adjust, lines on its side are stronger. In general my friend, take a VERY close look at Attila's nice pictures (they are PERFECT to understand lines, wonder why...lol) . Many stuff must be adjusted and u can clearly see them all. It is important this car comes perfect as only you can do.

Re: 4X lancia fulvia scratchbuild (Zagato... Zero..)
Thanks a lot Attila: it's your responsability if the Fulvia is now much better , I'll smoth down this sharp line manually once the body is printed: I designed this body many years ago, may be ten.... and then worked over like a lego
I'll take in consideraton the Paolo's observation also, he's right: I'll enlarge the radiator near the side panel line Wey Attila: did you taken pictures of the green frog also? Ever desired to build a Carabo!!!!

Re: 4X lancia fulvia scratchbuild (Zagato... Zero..)
It is a pleasure Gio, to see your Lancias being built and help if I can! I can hardly wait for the Zero as a model! In fact, I had been waiting for four decades to see the original of the model, I received from my parents as a birthday present, which turned to be decisive for my life. The first foto is quite emotional for me for that reason.
I made some photos of the "green frog" and of course, I would love to have a model of it as well! Paolo is right about the front black area, the width goes almost until the edge of the windscreen. In fact that piece on the car is a black stripe textured rubber, I suppose a kinda "doormat" to help to get in the car. I don't know the position of the radiator but by judging from the position of the overflow tank and the tube leading to the radiator refill, should be aroud the rear left of the engine compartment. I might be wrong though. Anyway it is a great car and Gio, you made a great model of it!!! |

Re: 4X lancia fulvia scratchbuild (Zagato... Zero..)
Mmmm I was thinking the back pad was the radiator , Now I have to back on references to discover where they closed down it. Thanks a lot also for the Carabo shots: I don't know if I'm good enough to design the 3D for it but I'll try now or then. I think I have to arrange a quick trip to Turin soon...

Re: 4X lancia fulvia scratchbuild (Zagato... Zero..)
Hi Gio, as I said it is a pleasure to see your work and I am really happy if I can help you. There are many interesting cars on the Gandini exhibition, the Stratos Zero, Carabo, Marzal, Runabout, Montreal, Khamsin, 2 Stratos, 2 Miuras, Countach etc. But the Museum itself is worth a visit since there are many interesting cars and history. I love to go there. Plus, this weekend, there will be the Automoto Retro... I hope we can meet sometimes soon and have a little chat about cars and modeling!

Always loved that FIAT after I got a toy of it as a kid. Also the Marzal is very cool. The Monaco debut car.
