Re: RB SWAP FAQ FROM UNSTABLE. GOT AN RB QUESTION? LOOK HERE FIRST!
Is the RB26 alo hard to get to the plugs? Cause it doesn't have a cross mount manifold.

Re: RB SWAP FAQ FROM UNSTABLE. GOT AN RB QUESTION? LOOK HERE FIRST!
I can asure you all that an easy Skyline swap into any S13/14/15 is to bolt the Skyline cross member up in place of the SR / CA cross member and use the Skyline engine mounts. The S15 6 speed manual is a good box for less the 400rwhp otherwise use a R33 5 speed manual or Trust 6 speed dog engagement box(read: EXPENSIVE)
. Being in Australia, I have an S14 Silvia with an R34 RB26DETT N1 motor, Twin HKS GT2530 turbo's, Hollinger 6 speed sequential(Read: MEGABUCKS but is indestructible), 4.11:1 Ratio Tomei 1.5 LSD as a dedicated hill climb, drift and race car... It was a surprisingly easy install and honestly with a basic mechanical knowledge can be done in a few weeks... Did I mention I have a reliable 500rwhp?? Any queries, feel free to post me a message here... or visit my website http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/664216 and leave me a post with your email... |

whats the labor cost for swapping a rb26 into a 98 240sx ive heard a lot of shit anywhere frome 2k to 8k and tat range doesnt help much, im wondering because i might go with the ka turbo kit now to lay down an easy 300 to the rear wheels to be cheap instead of going witht the SR if the RB swap is cheap enuf.
Does anybody kno were i can get some Gram Lights 57pros 18x9 in the front and 18x10 in the rear with a 32 offset and 5x114 bolt pattern for cheap. Also looking for a Rotora Big Brake Kit for under 1800 and some Tanabe sustec type s coil overs for under a grand if anybody can help that wold be great cuz i never find anything searching the net. |

You will not find any of that shit for cheap unless you buy them used from Japan (as in physically going to Japan).

Re: RB SWAP FAQ FROM UNSTABLE. GOT AN RB QUESTION? LOOK HERE FIRST!
The only logical reason I can see behind doing a RB26 swap is if you are going for a record for the most RWHP in a 240. And if you ever saw any high HP 240s, you'll know that anywhere above 300whp is plenty to keep up with most high end european and american sports cars. Anything past that is insane. Just watch the ultimate ka turbo video. Search for it. Tat posted it up a while ago.

Re: RB SWAP FAQ FROM UNSTABLE. GOT AN RB QUESTION? LOOK HERE FIRST!
If you want more than 500-600whp on the street, then you should look into a RB25 or RB26. Mate the RB26 with a RB25 tranny for RWD. I hope all you new guys didn't forget that there is a FAQ at the beginning of this thread.

Re: Re: RB SWAP FAQ FROM UNSTABLE. GOT AN RB QUESTION? LOOK HERE FIRST!
i have been through the faq's and couldnt find anything addressing the issue, i take it the rb25's tranney is stronger then? what would you recomend i do to get this kind of power? (as far as addressing the motor as an entire system where one change affects another part) i am totaly new to this, right now i have a 69 corvette stingray, and the asian cars are so different.

Re: RB SWAP FAQ FROM UNSTABLE. GOT AN RB QUESTION? LOOK HERE FIRST!
Learn A LOT before you venture into the 600whp FI world. (If you don't know what FI means then you don't know enough.) The reason to use the RB25 tranny is because the RB26 tranny is AWD, the RB25 tranny is RWD, DON'T EVEN THINK OF CONVERTING THE CAR TO AWD.

Re: Re: RB SWAP FAQ FROM UNSTABLE. GOT AN RB QUESTION? LOOK HERE FIRST!
trying to learn as much about it, before i do it, as i can hence the questions, i have been all over google, (it is what brought me here) and looked, and read as much as i can find, any good info sites you would recomend? and you didnt address the "car as a system" question i had... any advice, pointers or anything else you can offer is greatly appreciated. for this project, i am going to have between a $16,000 and $18,000 budget. i have found a local shop (reputable & reccomended) that can do the swap, but i want to know what to look for, ask for etc. my goal would be to wind up with 400-500 rwhp.

Re: RB SWAP FAQ FROM UNSTABLE. GOT AN RB QUESTION? LOOK HERE FIRST!
500whp is easy with an RB26, just bolt on some bigger turbos, upgrade the fuel system to be safe and it'll get you there.
