Re: Wip: 2007 Mp4/22
NP Robi.
The RC paint was a company I had never heard of before Spaz Stix. The color is the perfect match but the stuff is so tough to get right. I used Tamiya white primer with very thin layers and finally shot very very very thin layers of Finishers clear on top. It's an enamel so you have to have extremely thin layers of any kind of clear on it. Decals will go on tonight so I will post final pics soon. Not sure if I'm going to use the Top Studio brakes now or if the tires will just be left on the kit. Chris |

Re: Wip: 2007 Mp4/22
Not much left to do now.
I'm still working on the Top Studio brake set for this kit and I think I will display with wheels off. These pictures are not very good because I just wanted to shoot some for an update. And for those of you yet to build the kit. I found a cheap Aluminum paint that could be used that has the same shine as the motochrome after you clear it. I used it to touch up and you really cant tell the difference. Could have saved myself a lot of money knowing that! Enjoy. Chris |

Re: Wip: 2007 Mp4/22
that looks really nice, the first pic shows the "chrome" paint + the glowing red very good!!! But I think you have to take some pics with normal daylight to show us the "real" colors otherwise it looks kinda yellow

Re: Wip: 2007 Mp4/22
Inspirational! Despite the pics, it looks superb. Personally I'd go for wheels on. Excellent work.

Better pictures and thanks for the comments.
Lots of pictures to get every angle and answer questions about the paint and the shine. |

Re: Wip: 2007 Mp4/22
Pictures of the paint.
I was told that Hiroboy may be willing to mix up some orange but didnt even ask. Maybe if everyone is nice to him he will fix the problem because this paint that I used is a pain to work with! This is the Aluminum that is a good match and has a great shine. I used it to touch up spots and you cant even see the spots. Enjoy and the next pictures will be in the completed forum. Chris |

Re: Wip: 2007 Mp4/22
The best clear to use over any metal like paints is Future(aka Johnson's Klear)It has no chemicals that react with the paint and keeps the shine better than any other clear. If you mess it it up it is easily removed with ammonia which won't touch the paint. It can be wiped on,brushed or airbrushed.
