Well thats even cooler. Knowing you have toooo much HP to get a good time in lol you can never have too much. Hey treynor, is there anyway you can squeeze more HP out of the V-10 or is it maxed out?

With that much power why not just get rid of the independent suspension in the rear and put something more stiff in the back? Something that could handle slicks.

> Why not ditch the IRS?
Well, because I enjoy the fact that it handles like, err, a Viper Besides, I'd have to put in a full cage, 'chute, and a bunch of other stuff to legally run 9s, and that would ruin it as a daily driver.

Yeah I understand that. Have you consider this? I'll just paste all of what Viper 10 wrote.
"Devil: This is what separates the posers from the racers... an independent 4-link rear assembly with quick change gears. I should note that this rearend assembly was not solely designed for drag racing (as the title of this thread states). It is really designed for racing applications, and will withstand some serious HP and torque. It can be easily used for drag racing, without going to a solid rear axle. A solid rear axle with traction bars is totally impractical for street use. Brad"

yea at first look i thought it was a turbo but after lookin at it i felt like kickin myself cuz it most likely wouldn't be a turbo cuz it'd be hard to route the exhaust manifold up there.
also, how many psi are you running and what else have you done to the engine? are you running stock halfshafts and driveshaft or they still holdin up? that car is well in Hennessy and SVS range

I believe this will answer all your Q's: http://www.treynor.com/ViperMods.html
As for the replacement back end pictured, I am informed it will not stand up to really large slicks significantly better than will a built-up Dana Super 44, which is what I have.

Dana, isn't the ones that the old Chryslers used to use that were really strong?
So do you use slick at the track with your Viper?
