31, Aviation structural mechanic in the Navy. My current job is "instructor". Teaching the future airframers. Oh, and heavy metal all the way.... Iron Maiden, Rage, (no, not rage against the machine), Manowar, Testament.... And the only country I'll buy is Johnny Cash.

Re: What age are you guys mostly, and what kind of work do you do?

Guess it's time I chime in on this post..... I'm 50 and a semi-retired union pipe welder. Mostly living off my investments
Music I enjoy ranges from Floyd to Alice In Chains to The Beatles. And all ole' time rock and roll!! My son is 19 and he's always burning me new cds' to listen to. There's some pretty good music being made by Gen X. I'm particuliarly fond of Limp Bizkit. (even know the correct spelling). Good post sk!

Wow, do I feel old. 47, general construction contractor, civil engineer, Scoutmaster and all around jack of all trades. Not too bad with computers and electronics.

Love cars, trucks and boats.

My ultimate is to build a 40' cigarette offshore hull with 3 screws pushing around 2000 hp. Zoooom...

Nice idea for a poll.

Country, rock, heavy metal for me... as soon as I have some sort of sound system in my truck again (factory AM/FM went out). Might have to duct tape a boom box to the dash.

Rock, Classic rock, Southern rock, Country, even some rap now and then. On long drives I'll listen to ESPN, Fox news, or Talk radio on XM. It seems easier for me to stay awake when I can get into the conversations on the radio... Besides, sometimes you actually learn something new.

Age, Occupation, Music...

I'm 38 tomorrow, and have been a telecommunications Engineer for Intel (read: Satan) for the last 7 years in NJ.

My musical tastes vary by mood, but lately music hasn't been as important to me as it was when I was younger. Overall Rush is my favorite band.

Re: What age are you guys mostly, and what kind of work do you do?

Okay..seems to be my turn now. The weekends over, maybe my brain still functions.

I'm 23, be 24 April 4th. I'm a full-time Network Administrator/Tech Support for the local school system. Part-time installer of emergency lights/sirens/etc... Also sell and install and kind of audio/video equipment you can imagine. Employed by 3 Fire Dept's in the area, as well as the local EMS. Also do some DJ'ing on the weekends to make some extra cash.

As far as music.... Stevie Ray Vaughan is my all time favorite..I love the blues, hands down.
I can, and do listen to anything.
Any kind of guitar music I'm into..Brad Paisley, Van Halen, Hendrix, Ozzy, Black Label Society, Megadeath etc... Limp Bizkit is also a favorite of mine..the old stuff anyhow.

I forgot anything else...my head is kinda hurting a bit.

Re: What age are you guys mostly, and what kind of work do you do?

Hm. Missed the part about music, so I'll chime in again.

All-time favorite band is KISS. I own every album, except most of their compilations (what's the point?)

I'll listen to pretty much anything, with the exception of gangsta rap and top 40. Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Jazz (Braxton Brothers, Ray Charles) and an Irish folk/pop singer named Cara Dillon. I like the Corrs and Mary Black too.

I also like 80s punk - Dead Kennedys, Dead Milkmen, Subhumans, etc. I detest The Sex Pistols.

When I go to the gym to work out, it's Anthrax on the MP3 player. A fast, steady beat makes it easier to run on the treadmill or elliptical. Plus, the music rocks!
