Re: Recap of the North American F1 fleet
Lol I'd say yes. Yellow doesn't suit the F1 well imo. The only thing I would change on this car is add LM sideskirts (the HDF kit looks odd without it imo). I would also paint the wheels silver as the blacked out wheels fad has passed on. It looked nice in 2008 when lots of sports cars were doing it like Murcielagos, but not anymore imo.

The sale is definitely real. I think they are just waiting for some proper photos of it to be finished.

Re: Recap of the North American F1 fleet
Nice. It looks like it will be the only one publicly posted for sale. 27R sold recently after being posted for a while.

Yes, that should be its new home has just changed hands within the past couple of weeks. New owner has been using the car on the road, but it was last seen at Monticello Motor Club in New York within the last week.

Re: Recap of the North American F1 fleet
#073 was out today in Celebration, FL at the annual car show. Nice to see the owner putting it out in the public. It was at the same event in 2006 when owned by Don Wallace.

Re: Recap of the North American F1 fleet
27R looking wonderful out at Sonoma for their Speed Festival. According to the article it looks like it'll be featured in its own one on Speedhunters so keep an eye out.
Glad to see it back in the Parabolica livery (when did that happen?) but I wish they'd remove the number plate (looks like it's a different one than usual?) and lower it back down to track ride height. Still don't think Longtail GTR's look right road legal but I suppose as long as they get used it doesn't matter too much. http://www.speedhunters.com/2019/06/...return-racing/ |

The previous plate we saw it wearing was a private plate which had special meaning to the previous owner. I think the next time we see it at Quail in about a month that it will be back in race spec as the owner mentioned he wanted to drive it that way. There's a shop at Sonoma Raceway who were looking after the car and were set to do the conversion back after the Speed Festival was over. |

Re: Recap of the North American F1 fleet

So, the other day I met a person who claimed to own a F1, and a Porsche 959, and I think he may have been lying about both. He claims the car was purchased from the UK, where it was destined to be crushed for some reason or other. He said he had to have it get DOT approved. Or something along the lines of DOT being involved so he can bring it over. He claims it is being stored in the Boston area right now. I think he said he bought it in the early 2000's and I think he said he paid around $700k for it. He said he takes it to the track, and each run costs him $10,000 in insurance alone. Why don't I believe him? Well, he never heard of the McLaren Senna. And he said he's on the waitlist for a 2023 LaFerrari. he also said a F1 is worth $24 million USD. I think the last one sold for ~$15 million USD, if I remember correctly. Any help would be appreciated. If you want to know what he looks like, I can describe him via private message. I did not get a name or a car color, unfortunately. |
