I would want a yellow Evo.
I don't mind having no car for another year or so cause when I do get a Evo VII it'll be worth it. Yes, WRX are nice cars, but would you want it in the long run? If you're Honda is gonna die, can't ya just get some cheap used car and when Evo's come just trade it to get some money. I don't know, I don't have job, so I'm just making simple suggestions. |

You guys!!
Man, you guys are ruthless. Makes me glad that I own a Mirage... that board is so much more polite. LOL!
I've read the posts and have only one comment. No matter when the Evo VII comes to the US you know that it's going to be "bug"-ridden. Every "new model" car has problems, so when all the die-hard Evo fans start griping about their problems, well, it happens. I've experienced it, it sucks, but all you can do is go to the dealer and say, "Listen jerky, you seriously f*&ked up my vehicle... now what are ya gonna do about it?" Normally they fix it. Sometimes you get a hard ass who thinks he's going to pull a fast one. That's when I pull my trump card: "Oh, by the way, I'm a Marine... should I go see the Staff Judge Advocate about this 'not under warranty' issue?" :sun: That would be my only worry: What's wrong with it? I know, Scoobie-Doo pushed their's here early, and they're paying for it now... hopefully Mitsu is taking it's time to ensure costumer-satisfaction/product-quality. As for knocking the WRX, never drove one, don't have an opinion. If moldy, or anyone else, decides to by it, then so be it. Just remember, patients is a virtue. Personally I'll be waiting for the 2004 production series to come out.... I'm willing to wait for it. In the meantime I'll be working with the Mad Scientist and turn my little gas-eficient, 100hp, 2900 lbs., econ-box into a sleeper. You'd be surprised that you can coax 260+hp out of a 4G15... just takes a little blood (scraped knuckles), sweat (all work requires that!), and cursing (same as sweat, but twice as much!!). By 2004 I'll have a little autocrosser and a rally car... makes for an interesting combo in the barracks parking lot! If any dealerships are reading: 2004 Evo VII (or VIII, if so inclined) Black, preferably. Manual trans most definitely! Cloth interior. Keep your POS radio, I'll be too busy schooling the other guys to worry about what the background noise is! Don't need Low-Jack, just a plain alarm will do... when I hear the siren go off I've got an M16A2. Not worried about air conditioning, I'll get plenty with the windows down! Have Tommi Makinnen sign the owner's manual and I'll pay an extra $10 a month in financing... have him give me driving lessons and take me on as a sponsored driver and I'll go buy knee pads!! |

actually, I would highly doubt that the EVO will be bug ridden. New cars are the ones that are usually bug ridden, and when the Evo comes to the states, its not going to come over as a new car. The Evo VII isn't all that different mechanically from its predecessors, so Mitsu has had about 10 years to iron out the problems. The Evo is going to come over relatively problem free, at least thats my prediction.

You would think so, but there is a reason why it hasnt come over here eariler. They are having to move stuff around, change stuff up, and replace stuff to make it legal in the states. The movement of the Intercooler for one thing could be a problem for the Turbo.
<-=- how i feel.

Simmer down now
First thing, moldy:
I gotta kick ass Nissan Truck I sell yah It still has plenty of life left, for cheap to, that way, i get to sell my truck, you get a ride to cruise for a year, and then, you can keep it or sell it someone else, oh it even has 10,000 miles left on the warrenty. There, that solves your vehicle issue. Every one else: Now then, Let me put this in to perspective. Were all a little pissed of at Mother Mitsubishi right now, she seems to be going through metaphos. So I know we have signed that little petition, I personelly don't know if that got sent or not, but anyway. Ok, so mitsubishi's is having a midlife crisis. She's just trying to keep it togethor, her step daughter, Subaru, is out on the corner like the little slut she is, sellin her self to the cowardly two legged creatures. She's warein pretty pink garters, with yellow tights. Any mother would have second thoughts about releasing another child into the world. Mother Mitsubishi just wants to keep up her good image when she relases her little one out in to the streets. Motherly luv at it's finest. She just wants to make sure that her little EVO knows how to handle it's self in the land of the free. Shit, if mother mitsubishi released the Evo to the states right now, the minute we saw one on the lot, we'd probably run right up there, whipp out the old log, and stick it to the tail pipe, cause thats what were acting like, a bunch of Evo sex craved maniacs. So all of us piston heads who are frustrated at the good mother for keepen her super sexy girl locked up for another year, need to simmer down a little.

comparisons...
I have two friends with WRXs, and I pretty much love the hell outta driving them because, as you all know by now, BOOST IS LOVE. But, for me at least, it's a matter of degree and features. I want a turbo with 4 doors, AYC, ACD, and good brakes ('cuz I need 'em). The Evo is the car that can do all that. (4 doors a requirement, you say? -Yes, because someday I may be a family man and I don't want to give up my fast-as-hell car so my future wifey-poo can get a minivan to haul the kids). I am perfectly willing to drive my reasonably modded integra until the car that I really want comes out.
Bottmo line: If you REALLY want the Evo, you can wait for it; I am. |

Left nut for Sale
As the header says, I want a Evo so bad, don't care if it's a Evo VI or VII. I'll just have to import it privately since it ain't comin for a year, hopefully...I can make enough out of the sale of one of my prize posessions... My left nut!
Look for it on Ebay.

Raceghost's left nut
Raceghost,
Before you do something drastic, like home surgery... check out the Raleigh Medical Clinic in North Carolina. I read a few months back that they were paying $50,000 for a single testicle. The only conditions were that you had to be 35 years old or older and already produced three offspring. $50,000 is enough for an Evo VI or VII shipped from where ever, customs, taxes, bringing it up to US specs... and maybe some money left over for aftermarket parts, too! Hopefully this will help you get your car, since you can't wait 12 months or so for the Evo VII to get here. I'll give you one thing... you're brave... stupid, but brave! :sun: |
