Re: Ferrari 250LM 1965 Le Mans Winner - MFH 1/24
It's time to attach the engine to the chassis, so a new update on my wip is on...
Here you are... First of all, the chassis an the frame weathered with oils and tamiya sets. The gearbox also get a dirty sense (a little more than the engine). On it goes, the brake system with the necessary wires and some tubes. Then, I take a lot of nuts and add them to the interior. The leather places weathered with dark brown to look like ... leather . Then, is time for the suspension parts. Also, nuts added to replace Hiro's relief detail. And then the engine first and the gearbox later attached to the chassis. I choose this way because the rear axle didn't matches with the gearbox hole and the wheel's hubs. After two or three afternoons, all the parts fitted reasonably well but far from perfect. See what I have now... Thank you for your time. Have a nice weekend from sunny Greece... George |

Re: Ferrari 250LM 1965 Le Mans Winner - MFH 1/24
Another update with engine peripherals and exhaust...
First, of all I prepare and paint the exhaust. Some burnt iron and a seal process with a mix of matt clear and smoke, weathered the system. Then I prepare to setup the first bunch of engine peripherals like oil filter, water pump, etc... Some after-market Hiro's clear tubes help the process. The exhaust and some of the engine parts attached to the frame. The rest of the engine parts and the anti-roll bar, completed the story of this update. Hope you like it. George |

Nice looking lump. Looks like a hole in the outside port side exhaust, just aft of the collector.

Thanks Greg.
Yes, is a hole on the exhaust but I 'll cover it, after the final part of the exhaust attached. |

Re: Ferrari 250LM 1965 Le Mans Winner - MFH 1/24
Hello again..
Another progress on my LM. This time I started to clean and paint the rear fender. I paint and polished the fender and then attach the rear mesh on it. Finally, I paint the black inside. Afterwards, I add some wires on the interior. Then, I detailed the battery with a detail master's set and a Marelli logo. Also, the belts for spare wheels, made from Hiro's leather. So, the fender glued to his position and over it I attach the battery and some liquid boxes. With these additions the engine bay finished and looks like this: Thank you for your time. George |

Re: Ferrari 250LM 1965 Le Mans Winner - MFH 1/24
Some interior progress to my LM today.
First of all the seats primed. In the centre part of them, I spray tecno texture paint to represent the alcantara leather of the real one. Then seats painted with gunze's blue (with a lot of white) and weathered.. In the bottom of the seats, I add some plastic rods to represent the seat base. The dashboard follows. I replace the switches with new metal or PE ones and the and some wiring. The steering wheel came from an MG Model's kit. In this I made some black thin lines and cover them with clear orange. The door panels also covered with tecno's black texture paint and detailed a little bit. Then, the interior parts assembled to the chassis. The door panels will be fitted to the body. Here you are: Thanks for your time and hope for your comments and feedback George |

Re: Ferrari 250LM 1965 Le Mans Winner - MFH 1/24
It all looks delicious, but I'm a little bothered by the kind of pitted appearance of the seat cushions. Perhaps it's only the light in the photos?
Stupendous work apart from that though! ianc |
