i bet it's marked up huge though... just like how motorex marks up skylines. Since the Elise is imported and it has to be made street legal in the U.S.

I've heard that the Elise is very unforgiving at the limit, youre very unlikely to catch it when it really goes.
any owners or anyone whos driven one care to confirm? cheers jay |

Actually, I've heard quite the contrary.
The Elise is VERY forgiving, and you can flick through corners and still be in excellent control (much thanx to the mid-mounted engine). At least, so says Car AND Driver |

Iv heard both from two differnt people at the same track day.
I think it depends on just how close to the limit you are, and your own driving skill and style. Certainly watching them when they spin, they start to drift, then very suddenly snap and go round.

I saw one for the first time EVER at the Seattle Auto Show. WOW!!!
IT looks WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY different in person, I can not stress to you how MUCH!!!! Of course, it is very obviously recognizable, but the front looks more droopy, much much much more low. The entire car looks a lot more tiny and fragile. Nonetheless, seeing the car in person made me a believer. The Elise has been pushed up way high on my top fav. cars list. The top-10-list-reguardless-of-price list I should think. Adam |

I think it must be just when you're nearing the limit that it becomes too hot to handle. The same can be said of many mid-engined cars. Having said that, it is a superb car, and I would dearly love to have one as my track toy.
