Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

Oh No, No more weather terms.... I hear it enough from my girl.... AHHHHH Well We made it pretty good after all, except for some areas being completely under water... such as Bound Brook, NJ. which is the next town over from where i work! The pictures you see are no more then 5 mins from my job! Otherwise, just some more rain, very little wind.. and COLD! This is just as bad as hurricane floyd from 1999.
Enough about flooding...
I think some of my projects will be come go aheads now! WOHOO! I may get my Dashhawk for my G6, and may start on my 88 on fixing her up and getting her back on the road, ( which will be help for gas, since it's very fuel effiecent!) I'll be discussing all of this hopefully tonight with my girl... providing she doesn't freak out about money for the wedding. the best part is that she suggested for us to get what we want now! HAHAHAH I love it!
For exhaust tips... I like my chromes on my 6, but wouldn't mind having the 2 dual tips on the back instead of the 2 singles just like the g/a had before!

I think it would also depend on what year G/P GTP you are talking about. Newer vs. older, Supercharged vs. Turbo, and of course driving skills. I have little doubt in my mind the Xi couldn't take almost all of them. Other then maybe a GXP grand prix.

Yeah his engine is pretty beefy now, I bet he could probably beat most GTPss (come to Purdue if you want to race some, there are approximately 13451236123 of them). I saw a GXP the other day... yeah that would be a close one. Those things are pretty beefy.

We don't have many G/p's around here or i just haven't noticed. You are more likey to be up against a SUV or a import ( on the roads not on the track). On the track, it's a mixed bag, but mostly import (mainly 3 billion civics ) and "muscle" like mustang, vette, camaros etc... I forgot what XI is running on his SE right now but I know it's quick... i think the older G/P GTP turbo Mclaren edition may put up a good fight. If I recall correctly they had something like 220+ horses at the wheels stock. I could be wrong, it's been awile since i've looked into finding one.

If thiers 13451236123 of them, I'd better bring some extra gas money

It also depends on what has been done to the GTP.
If they swapped to a smaller pulley on the SC

Though thier is the other problem with SC's, they need time to wind up. Boost driven by the motor, so they loose a little right off but then gain it back as thier boost builds up. IMO turbos spool faster with no lose.

GP & GTPs are a dime a dozen around here.
I have worked on a few of them, all stock though.
One guy has a CAI but he is wreckless .

I fixed his front end after he hit a deer going 50+mph.
Two weeks later, he hit another one

kids !

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

A dime a dozen you say..... Hmmmm. I have a few bucks, maybe i can take a few of those G/ps off of peoples hands! XI becareful on that gas money racin all thos G/P's! gas prices are rising again... too high IMO. Where are you guys at with prices now adays? We are any where from 2.50-2.90 for regular ( depends on where you live in the state)

For the G/Ps around here for the few you see. most of them are slightly to heavily modified. Unless you find an older one (mid 90's) or a brand new one. Then they are mostly stock. Everyone likes to mod the 98+ model years.

If you want dime a dozen that would be G/a's for us! they are everywhere!!!

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

Well for the G/a's we have tons around here. Most start at the 92-93 model year and go newer. Very VERY few of the 80 model years floating around. I don't even see too many hooked up g/as around here. Normally the ones i see slightly moded are the 96-98 models. Where i live I've been paying about 2.60 for gas at the moment, but it's been slowly going up before you realize it's getting expensive.
I saw the most aweful looking Cobalt the other day I took a pic on my phone, and the damn thing never saved it! So I'll let everyone imagination run wild on this one. A base Cobalt coupe LS, in the fusion Orange color, with a Bright green body kit on the car ( the type that attaches to the exsisting bumpers), with the lip wing in bright green then a regular wing in the fusion orange. To top it off there was graphics down teh side in the fusion orange, bright green and black. When i say bright green I mean like this smiley ---> I have no clue what that girl was thinking... but she knew i was up to no good since i was pacing her trying to get a pic.

lol stalker

I saw a baseline civic with one of those giant aircraft aluminum wings the other day. No other mods at all except this monsterous wing that was probably higher than the car itself. It makes me lose my faith in humanity

It's only considered stalking when the girl is good looking or hot ... in this case.. neither the car or her was all that great looking...
