I just put a paperclip in the leads to the on the speed sensor wire. I saw a wiring diagram that showed the wires are in a harness that runs underneath the master cylinder. I then checked for connectivity across the speed sensor leads, it beeped on the multimeter, so I guess the wiring checks out from the sensor to the harness.

My 94 - the odometer has not worked since I got it - not a big deal - the speedometer sometimes gets "stuck" and if I smack the dash right above it it springs to life and kind of boings up to the speed I am going - don't try this at home - just a suggestion - I know not a fix but it is for my car
