I agree somewhat with you. But I like to have some overhead on my amp. That's why I have three 150 rms subs on a 1500 rms amp. You just have to know how to set your gains. It can be very easy to clip a small amp when powering subs that can handle more power, resulting in a damaged sub.

Yes true but back to what you said be careful with the gains.

I was going on the fact that alot of newbs want subs rated at 2 million watts and the same with amp just because the bigger number sound like it will louder.

But i will agree a setup that can handle 1k watts will sound louder than one that handles 300.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.
