I did not sand the inside of the wheels but sanded away the area circled red.

and cut off the circled area


I used 2mm rods to make the wheels into "male" type.

Sorry if my explaination is bad.

I feel my method is not very good though as the wheels are rather loose and had to glue it to make it stay in position.
