What no Grand Wagoneer fans out there? Undoubtedly the sexiest Jeep ever....just ask the ladies. Chrome galore, lotsa wood (although its really plastic) Big ass engine. Great interior with lotsa room. Nothing looks better by the campsight with a canoe on top.

It's interesting how people seem to be choosing the Cherokee and the Scrambler. I have one of each. I like them both, but my Cherokee (bought new) is unacceptably unreliable. The transfer case is a disaster, and the engine and trans have both been rebuilt with less than 70,000 miles on them. If it could be persuaded to be as reliable as the average car, it would be much more enjoyable.
The Scrambler is really handy off road, and is more reliable, but too primitive on road to be serious all around transportation. Yes, I know, its a real Jeep, so I do not expect it to ride like a Cadillac. The Cherokee is a better all around Jeep, in terms of performance. |

No matter what make or model you buy, some cars are gonna be lemons, its just the side effect of mass production.

Wagoneer
For serious, long term, otr driving /living, I spend 4+ MONTHS, each year, prospecting and treasure hunting !
I love the Wagoneer! Mine's a '77! I have a 360 V8, Turbo 400 At, dana 44's frt/rear. The rack on the top carries some of my camping gear, and with the rear seat removed, I have roughly a 4x7 cargo area, for more gear! Two spare tires, extra large gas tank and I'm off the road for many miles, and MANY Months! AND! With the Quadra Trac lo-range option, I have never had to use the factory "Emergency Drive" system! Besides, That "Son of a Gun", is way too brutal ! |

My favorite would have to be my new '04 Grand Cherokee Freedom Edition with the 4.7L H.O. V8 and some mods that I have done to it. |

Re: What is you're faverote jeep and why?
I like my MJ, even thought it barely runs, definetly doesn't have the power to smoke the tires, and may not pass emissions All this could have something to do with the 274k miles its got on it. Flatfenders ('cept the 3B), and J Trucks are among my favorites too.
PS dito on the Liberty bashing |

CJ-6s are nice. The looks of a 5 with the added length.
CJ-7s are my favorite. CJ-8s are cool because theyre a CJ that looks like a truck. And well of course who could forget the CJ-10. Not many might know about it, I just learned of its existance a few weeks ago. It is 2wd and has some square headlights (I know square lights are a sin). I think it has a top speed of 25mph, but it was a military contract vehicle used to tow planes around runways and other tedious work. I'm sure it can yank down the entire mountian THEN go wheeling over it. Although impracticable for anything, just a collectible. The Jeep Icon concept is just about as bad as the Trio. If either ever make it into production, I'll kill everybody at DC. |
