Re: Porsche 911 964 Carrera RS
Using all feedback I went back and reworked the steering wheel and I like it. So currently I'm printing a test to see if all holds up nicely.

Re: Porsche 911 964 Carrera RS
I decided to create a new backrest with the Carrera RS text inscribed.
After embossing and painting it looked quite good. But to fill in the text with red proved very tricky. And the macro shots are killing... I am proud on how all the details worked out in the end. Makes the car resemble the original really well and makes this kit unique. After that, it was time to grab some Recaro seats from the spare parts box, add the hip belt openings and assemble to the how this ends up. |

Re: Porsche 911 964 Carrera RS
After working some parts I noticedthe washer nozzles on the front bumper. The RS does not have those
So I dumped the bumper in the brake oil... With the paint removed, I sanded the nozzles off and started the painting process again Then I put the lights back in and glued the bumper in place |

Re: Porsche 911 964 Carrera RS
Lately I always seem to scratch build the shocks. It's not that difficult and looks way better that the injection molded blobs.
Next up, the wheels. In the past I had designed a set of Cup rims, but I wasn't fully happy. So a quick alteration to the spokes and the rim is ready. Then over to the tires. I found a few good pictures for the correct Pirelli P Zero tires and with some quick sketches and learnings on how to easilly create a tire, the first results were very promissing. I did a test print to have a feel for the level of detail and it looks good. [/quote] Currently I'm working on the side wall text. It still needs the Pirelli logo as well. |
