Re: New GTO????

Truth be told, im really dissapointed in the new GTO. Sure it has one of the 10 greatest engines (true) the LS1. But M/T only ran it to a 14.0 with the production version. Also, im pissed off at GM for turning the malibu, grand prix, impala into FWD cars. Not to mention the end for the F-Body. Greatest late model muscle car ever. (Can you name a 1998 or newer muscle car/pony car that can run mid 13's stock for under 25K?)

Re: New GTO????

BTW maybe SLP might get a hand of one of those things. Australia has a 435 (i think) HSV Monaro, with the LS6, full racing interior and suspension. Kinda like a racing street car I.E. Porsche GT2

Re: Re: New GTO????

You know guys, I care less what all of your have to say bad about the GTO. I know all it is is a rwd restlyed grand prix. But, maybe, just maybe, I like it. I asked a simple question about the possibility of a new GTO model, or possibly the HSV GTS holden model, I'd like them both to be honest (perferably with an engine). Who cares if the 05 mustang looks like something someone drew and trashed the idea, it is nice, but I prefer the GTO, because I have always liked them and am quite happy GM will have another RWD car.

Excellent point! I'd bet money that we'll see a new kit of the GTO/Monaro!

ah yes, the HRT 427. Was gonna be a $250k car but for some reason Holden Special Vehicles decided not to actually complete the car. As far as I know the car had 420kW and 780 Nm of torque from a 7litre V8, pretty much full carbon fibre/kevlar interior... afaik the rims are like magnesium alloy or something, and cost more than a new car, lol And with a time of 3.8s from 0-100 its pretty fkn awsome

AP racing brakes. OMG OMG OMG.

I'd take the HSV over the GTO if it were available in the states. But it isn't, unless you have the cash to import it here, (i don't) you'll have to settle for the GTO, which is still a great car such as it's monaro gts counterpart.

Re: New GTO????

Meh I see at least 10 of those a day even if I don't go out of the house.
The new Monaro isn't anything great. If I was you I'd wait until GM actually make their own new Goat, if you could call it that now.

Re: New GTO????

I didn't see the HRT post, yeah it's a pity that got cut by HSV. Shame to see it but I suppose it was a waste of money really, not many people would have the money to buy something that is virtually a $250,000 Commodore. No where to go 360km/h or use 0-100km/h in under 4 seconds in Australia, well anywhere that is responsible.

Well, what'd I say in a previous post? No matter all the negative things everyone has to say I like it. That's all that matters.

Re: New GTO????

I'm liking the idea that GM is bringing with the GTO. I wouldn't say that the GTO is the fastest, or the coolest, or the best design, but with the GTO, GM is stepping into RWD cars again. I just hope that they carry that idea to some of their other cars. Me personally, the GTO isn't all that. It is a pretty cool car, but the idea behind it is what really drives me.

I agree with what Camaroboy said earily in this thread. GM has kind of screwed with some awesome cars, and I don't really like it. Some people may, but guess what, it's all an opinion. Everyone has one. I still can't believe that GM killed the Camaro after 35 years. At least there are rumors about it maybe coming back in 05. We can only prey that it does. And hopefully GM doesn't screw it up with some FWD, no hp crap.
As a wrap up to all that I said, I just have to say opinion's are like ass holes. Everyone has one, everyone stinks!

I thought everyones opinion mattered? I'm only suggesting that from what I have heard about some Monaro owners in Australia, there are good parts and bad parts too.
Alot of owners are extremely happy though, but some true enthusiasts aren't.
