Re: Pro Touring Camaro of a different ......size?
not a whole lot going on with this. I started priming the body. I got the engine roughed out. I need some 3/8ths styrene tubing for the sleeves. on the LSX motors you can see the indentions for the sleeves in the block.......enjoy

Looking great so far. I am really excited to see this one. How are you going to do the two-tone paint job? Are you going to do stripes? |

Re: Pro Touring Camaro of a different ......size?
im not sure. If I get around to it, I will post the sketches that I did. they would call for some major sugery. they are more like the modern concepts of possible next gen camaro's. I am still kicking around ideas for paint. I've considered a solid color, with painted hockey stripes....not sure though.

I second that...it would look wicked with some motion stripes on it. Keep up with the pics....cant wait to see more.
I found a link that will give you the basic idea of the baldwin motion strip package http://cgi.ebay.com/1969-camaro-bald...ayphotohosting

Re: Pro Touring Camaro of a different ......size?
You mentioned turbos. A thought occured to me: motorcycle 1/12 kits! I had some parts from an old bike kit that was turbocharged. Threw it out a while ago, can't remember what the bike was other than being able to recall that it was a Honda of some sort. Hope this helps.

it might. I plan on scratchbuilding them at the moment. the smaller tamiya bike kits are $30+ I can only imagine how much a 1/12 would be. Plus I would imagine the turbos would be too small.

Re: Pro Touring Camaro of a different ......size?
Well, here is what I've got so far. The block needs a lot of clean up around the sides where I used superglue to get the look I was after. I've also roughed out the cylinder head. All it needs is the ends capped off, and the exhaust port details and plug holes done and it will be ready to cast. I'll make a "perfect" peice, then make a mold and cast 2 identical peices. The only thing that worries me thus far, is the shot of the head sitting atop the engine. It just doesn't look right. The first couple of shots are the engine that comes in the kit. it has a scratchbuild bellhousing. Well the beginnings of one. As I had originally planned on constructing the T-56 and attaching it to that engine.

Re: Pro Touring Camaro of a different ......size?
I picked up the motor city muscle ss camaro and the firebird.....they just keep piling up. lol. They will be OOB builds. Just some different paint. and some torque thrusts on the firebird. I need to start clearing some of these things out. lol

Re: Pro Touring Camaro of a different ......size?
alright. I spent some time last night and this morning working on the heads. I realized that I had missed several details that are needed for it to be accurate when I roughed the head out. The intake runner area cannot be flat, for the intake that I plan to use for this. Hopefully I will be able to create a suitable LSx intake manifold for the resin copies. But I plan on running a sheet metal type intake for the twin turbo set up. So I will spend my time today, what little I can manage to find, working on the intake side of the head. The exhaust side is looking pretty good. It needs some clean up though. Let me know what you think
The first picture is the head that I am using for reference.
