Re: 500 Horsepower 2001 Nissan Skyline GT-R N1 to Make Speed World Challenge Debut

If you know Silver State - then you know Big Red. They were doing a 0-200-0 run - actually this weekend. The thought crossed my mind. I have run in the Big Bend race in Texas in a Typhoon. Open Road Racing is some very different stuff. This R34 is not really setup for this type of racing. It would be fun, but put a lot of mileage on the motor. |

The car will be appearing center stage at SEMA IAS in Atlantic City on May 21st. We're doing a roll call for people that will be attending here: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=407315
We're going to see if we will get an opportunity to allow the AF members to get in the driver's seat of the GT-R for photographs at the show.

Is there a reason you cant race it yet? I mean c'mon, the series started 3 weeks ago, and i didnt see no Skyline. i guess your not going to run the full season like you said.

The world challenge or the GT class? I dont think your legal for the world challenge class, you have to have less than 275 HP.

The car needs to be approved to race in the series. There are some changes that needed to be done to the car to run in the series We also wanted to give Igor a year to work on driver development. From the start we planned on running the car in the 2006 season. On that note though, the Automotive Forums R34 will be out at SEMA IAS in New Jersey next weekend. May 20th - industry and May 21st and May 22nd for the public. |

The R34 GT-R will be in the GT class. The GT class cars are around 500 hp. |

Re: 500 Horsepower 2001 Nissan Skyline GT-R N1 to Make Speed World Challenge Debut
Last year our viper had a little over 600HP. But come tot hink of it, our car was on the heavy side, so this car may actually be faster, cause afterall, HP doesnt really mean anything. If you need help when your in portland let me know, ill be there with the miata pro series.

Just checking in. Congrats on the race wins. Keep it up man. Try to keep your ear to the ground for sponsorship and get in everyone's ear at the track, shows, etc. about sponsorship. Unfortunately in today's world it is harder to fund yourself than to win...

It will be interesting to see how this GT-R competes next year with Viper Competition Coupes, Corvette C6s, 911s, and what not.
Also, some were wondering about the Volvo S60 R. Michael Galati drove an S60 R to its best finish ever of 5th at Portland. |
