Re: Monterey 2011 - will P25 find a McLaren F1?
I already have the full event itinerary but don't know how much of it that Ray wishes to publicize. I had hoped when he made his initial reply here that he'd be the one to explain more about the actual event.
I will ask him what info can be shared as I've gotten quite a few requests already, even from outside this forum. There are portions of the event, including the location the cars/owners will be staying that are secure and private, however there will be quite a few opportunities to see the cars out in public areas at specific times. Once I have a clear indication of what can be shared I'll make sure everyone knows. >8^) ER P.S.: Patrick - the drive will be just a bit further for you this time. |

Re: Monterey 2011 - will P25 find a McLaren F1?
Not sure if I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but one of the things I asked the owner of #036 was if he had any photos of his F1 and F50 together, and that if he didn't I told him that I'd love to have some as those are my two favorite supercars and are the true '90's icons.
He told me the two cars are rarely ever in the same place but agreed it would make for a nice set of shots and said he would try to get Richard Thompson to take some when he could make arrangements. ...and look what we have here! Hopefully more of this pair will be along shortly. >8^) ER |

Lovely shot and I'm in total agreement with you Erik. The F1 is of course the ultimate but the F50 is a close second for me. I had a model when I was 6 and used to see one in Marbella when I went on holidays in the late 90's, being just a kid and seeing and hearing that thing made a huge impression on me.

Re: Monterey 2011 - will P25 find a McLaren F1?
Nice shot, but IMO the F50 is just another super Ferrari, not in the same vein as the F1 [and to doctor a quote from GM, the F1 is 49 steps better than the F50 ]
For me, a car from a different manufacturer that is almost at the same level as the F1 would be the something along the lines of.... [let me get back to you on this, it's a harder question to answer than at first thought..]

The F50 is less car, but more racing car. There are reasons it is ranks #2 for me but I still happen to love it!
YMMV >8^) ER |
