Re: How many miles do you have your Isuzu?
I just bought my 97 4x4 3.2, 2 weeks ago and have put 500 miles. I has 115k. Replaced original spark plugs, pwr steering fluid, and trans oil. I'm planing on having the T-belt replaced. No lights on the dash with the exeption of the rearABS and brake light coming on and off sometimes. On stud on the fron wheel had to be removed by force when it fail to come out with impact gun. AC and all electric stuff works great. The ticking from the lifter is hardly noticible. So far I like this truck, I just need to find out if my 4x4 works. I've been told by a few friends on how to check to see if it works and if it does not work, I'll purchase the Isuzu repair manual and it tells you on how to trouble shoot the 4x4. I hope is working.

Re: How many miles do you have your Isuzu?
1994 Rodeo 3.2 V6 S
162,000 Just bought it for $700 from a Marine being deployed & he wanted to get rid of it cheap. It never got registered in CA & now needs to pass smog in order for me to transfer the title. Everything on it is in good shape & works except after driving it for a few days, I realized the #6 coil was misfiring and when I pulled out the plugs, they were drenched in oil. So far we've put a bit more $$ into it but as of now it won't even start. I posted a thread for help on this... I think once we get past these initial hurdles it has plenty of life still left in it... |

Re: How many miles do you have your Isuzu?
Year: 1999 Rodeo S
Engine: 2.2L 4 cyl. Mileage: 137k Any major problems: 1) ABS went bonkers, replaced under warranty prior to recall 2) gas sending unit went out, replaced under extended warranty 3) starter went out, replaced under extended warranty 4) cluch, cost 900 bucks to replace at dealer 5) timing belt broke (29k on new timing belt - should have ad the tensioners replaced!!!!!!) causing engine damage thanks to interference engine design. will be attempting to remove head and replace head myself, after machine shop repairs. hopefully won't be any pistons damaged (??). Repair manual ordered, will remove head after reading about it. Really have enjoyed the car despite the problems. Has plenty of pep for a 4 banger. Manual transmission helps I imagine greatly w/ this. Won't buy another Isuzu but not sorry I did - maybe will get a non-interference engine next time though - can't believe the auto industry relies on these thin little belts that could break and destroy the head. Repair shop wanted 1500-1600 to repair, estimate w/out knowing if pistons are damaged... If anyone has any pointers or experience w/ any of this would apprecaite some feedback. Especially regarding piston damage. I'll document the entire repair process and put up a web page on it if it turns out ok... thx. |

Re: How many miles do you have your Isuzu?
+112,000 miles!
I love this truck. No major problems, I've had a few minor problems with the ABS, wipers and the shift lock but I was able to fix these myself. It's a shame Isuzu discontinued the Rodeo model.

Re: How many miles do you have your Isuzu?
2000 Rodeo V6 Automatic
Update from earlier post. Just passed the 150,000 mark Has been running fine. Just recently had the 3/4 accumulator piston seal replaced. (common Rodeo problem-Isuzu Forum), The mechanic agreed and said he has done a number of these replacements. He all so said he would not recommend changing it out yourself. It could get real nasty. Ran me 100 bucks. |

Re: How many miles do you have your Isuzu?
Year:1997 RODEO LS
Engine:3.2L V6 Mileage:107.5K Just purchased about 2 weeks ago. It appears engine has been replaced, so true mileage not known if this is correct. After driving about 400 miles everything seems to function as its should. Have not really attempted to use 4WD, but indicator comes on. Scheduled for front brake pads and oil change tommorow. Topped off all fluids and will address trans fluid soon based on what I have read here, since its the automatic transmission. Very pleased so far!!!! Appreciate all the information in this forum...it's very well run!!

Re: How many miles do you have your Isuzu?
Year: 1992
Engine: V6 3.1L Mileage:266K Any major problems: The only major problem that I had was having someone pulled out in front of me while I was driving on the highway. The frame was not bent, so I replaced the front end and had it painted. I bought it used in 94 and it had 20K on it. I have replaced the alternator twice and replaced the rear bearings. The gas tank is starting to leak but I'm going to replace it. This is the best vehicle that I could ever own. |

Re: How many miles do you have your Isuzu?
i have a 95.5 rodeo with 181811 miles on it.runs ex pass smog with flying colors. has good oil pressure, cant tell its running at an idle real smooth.oil pressure is 80 psi driving and 40 psi idleing. i just wanted to know what causes it to get a rattle at about 2500-2700rpms, or just about the tim you get ready to shift. maybe just the way these motors are. heard they have a problem with piston slap. thought maybe loose bearings ,put it under aload no nock of any kind and always has good oil pressure.i hear it with the windows up and not really with the windows down.also was wondering what causes the clutch petal to get alittle vibration in it say you can fell some thing weird if you hold rpms about 1500 or up and push and realeasethe cluch. it only has about 15000 miles on the clutch. i bought it with a bad trans, paper work in the glove box showed the new clutch, and when i put the trans in the clutch looked good. other than that it sound good.
