Re: ModellingMaster.com - transkits, photo-etched and decals
This is looking really good!
Let me tell you my toughts on what will be an awesome 1/24 kit to be produced by you in the future. And I'm telling this to you ModellingMaster guys because I know you are truly passionate and incredibly good at making all this. This is a car that won 2L world championship 3 times! in 96, 97 and 98. Harri Rovanpera, Oriol Gomez and Chus Puras drived them for the works team. The car was so popular all around Europe and many privateers used it. And it's never been produced as a 1/24 kit. And it simply looks awesome all in green! PLEASE MODELLINGMASTER, LET IT HAPPEN!!! |

The Cordoba version was really an Ibiza with rear compartment, so engine hood, windscreen, doors, etc, are the same. Logically, front wings, fenders, etc, need a lot of modification also by class rules (WRC wider than Kit Car), but could be a good base. Of this models there are several resin body copies for slot, at least at Spain, but maybe quality is not so good. Other option is to use the same Cordoba WRC, but Evo II version. Changes fespect Evo I are only located in the front headlamps and fender, nothing that represents a problem for Romik hands. |

Re: ModellingMaster.com - transkits, photo-etched and decals
I wouldn't say as you so simply that Cordoba is an Ibiza with rear extension...
I disagree on the hood and windscreen, it's way different to me, angle, size... Moreover starting from a metal model isn't the simplest way, and such models are now rare and expensive... But that said it's for sure the best option, as it's the only one I see ! I would appreciate to have one if it's produced but I really see models more interesting before this one The Gr.B serie is still missing a nice Peugeot 205T16 Evo2 (Or dakar) or a Rebault 5 Turbo TDC version and these ones have nice base to work from. Be sure that Ibiza and Cordoba are the same car, at least the street version. Same chassis, same engines, same all. Maybe during development to become a rally car suffered some big modification in the chassis to suspension and engine adjusments, but in the body size, including windscreen, hood, doors, etc, are the same car. I agree with you that white metal is not the best for big modifications, but for sure that make a resin copy to work with it is not a problem. The important thing is to have any to start to work with. On the other side, I also agree with you that there are so many other cars that could be reproduced, not only Ibiza Kit Car and other Gr.B cars. The list can be so long that covered several pages in the forum, any of us with our own dreams. For example, I would like also to have a Hyundai Coupe Evo II Kit car, or others from 80's ETCC time as Volvo 240 Turbo RAS or Bastos Rover Vitesse... The good point here is that fortunatelly for the modelers, there are more options apart of typical japanese offer |

Re: ModellingMaster.com - transkits, photo-etched and decals
Why not the Skoda Fabia Kit-Car or the Favorit?
Or even the Octavia WRC |

Cordoba hood seems more flat when Ibiza hood is very angular, also Ibiza windscreen seems narrower... It's probably a bad effect from pics because as much as I remember most of the Cordoba has been done with Ibiza parts as you stated above. Anyway having someCordoba resin cast copies could be a good solution to build an Ibiza. That would be a nice original model, and I think it was very popular in Spain, more than in France where those years were dominated by Peugeot and the 306 Maxi and also the Megane Maxi. My personal favorite F2 would be the nice 106 Maxi from 97 Tour de Corse. In the older time subject I'm thinking to transform a Peugeot 104 Berline into the Coupe ZS Gr.2 than ran in the late 70's in Portugal or Corsica... An Idea among dozens of other ones I completely lack time for... |
